Regional convention Guntur
  GrACE (Greens Alliance for Conservation of Eastern Gahts) an initiative by Council for Green Revolution, with the success of our First Regional Convention in Vishakaptnam on Nov 19th 2011, with the same spirit we organized the Second Regional convention in Guntur on March 10th 2012 in collaboration with Acharya Nagarjuna University.

The convention was held in the DR.H.H.Deichmann & DR.S.John David Auditorium CUM Seminar Hall, ANU campus. Sri.Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao Minister for Rural Development & MG NREGS,Govt of AP graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Many other dignitaries also graced the occasion among them were Sri Kakumanu Peda Peri Reddy, Member of AP State Human Rights Commission, Sri M.Samuel IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary of Govt. of AP, Dept of Forest, Environment, Science & Technology, Prof.K.Viyyanna Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University. The speakers for the Inuagural session were Prof.K.Purushotham Reddy(Environmentalist),Smt.K.Leela Laxma Reddy (Patron of GrACE),Prof.Z.Vishnu Vardhan(Dean of the University)Sri.R,Dileep Reddy(Chairman for GrACE) added a key note during the session. Sri.Siva Prasad Chennu, Convenor, Regional convention- Guntur gave the vote of thanks.

The Convention and the two parallel Technical sessions were held at the Seminar hall, ANU Campus and Prof.Z.Vishnu Vardhan chaired the first Technical session- Status of Eastern Ghats Today. Eminent speakers have spoken on the topic Status Eastern Ghats Today and encouraged the initiative. Dr.Hampaiah Chairman,A.P. State Biodiversity board emphasized on the different species of flora and fauna of the Eastern Ghats Region, Prof.B.Ravi Prasad Rao,Dept. of Botany,SKD University,Anantapur highlighted the rare endangered species of Anantapur District which add beauty to the Eastern Ghats regions.Prof.B.V.Rama Rao Naidu, Botanical Scientist throwed a light on all the Aromatic Medicinal Plants Sri.G. Rajendar Reddy, President Gandi Global Family- AP unit, have spoken on the topic Policy Options to Protect Eastern Ghats and encouraged the initiative.

Sri.J.Bapu Reddy, IAS (Retd) chaired the valedictory function and Sri.V.N.Vishnu, IAS, Dist Magistrate & Collector-Guntur delivered the key note address. Sri.Ch. Siva Prasad, Sr.Journalist gave the Vote of Thanks.

Several scholars, academicians, conversationalists and representatives of the line departments of the respective State and Central Governments participated in the Regional Convention on Protection of Eastern Ghats. Through out the day the venue was lively with huge number of academicians, scientists, activists, policy makers and students from Andhra University.
